Image Title:
Long-tailed Weasel 2, Yellowstone National Park, WY

Photographer's Notes:
Usually weasels are skittish creatures, this particular
one seemed curious to check its surroundings. In late
May of 2009, I watched this lil'creature for while near
the northeast gate of Yellowstone. Weasels, also go by
the name, ermine during winter when their coats turn
white.  They maintain the black tip on the tail year
round.  The long-tailed has a 5" long tail and wraps its
body around its prey as it successfully kills by a bite to
the base of the skull.
