Photographer's Notes:
    A bull bison died due to unknown causes.  This created
    a much needed food source for many Yellowstone
    animals.  

    This bobcat was seen feeding on the bison carcass for a
    few days in the winter of 2007-08, along the Madison
    River in Yellowstone National Park.  A nearby songbird
    caught the cats attention as you can see it focusing in
    the distance.

    The bobcat was actually sitting inside the chest cavity
    of the bison!  Not only was it protection from the wind,
    but food found deep within the rib cage made for a
    lasting source of winter energy for this elusive creature!
