Steaming Bulls, Hayden Valley, Yellowstone Nat'l Park, WY

Photographer's Notes:
This image was taken at first light in the Hayden Valley
section of Yellowstone National Park.  The steam was
visible permeating the air above each bison as the cold
morning air started to warm with the arrival of the sun.

With a few thousand bison roaming the open grassland
sagebrush and wooded areas of the park, more people
get way too close to this animal for "that extra special
picture".  An average of four visitors to the park are
gored each year by bison (by both bulls and cows).  In
such a case, it is usually the person who was as fault,
not the bison for encroaching on the others personal
    space.
