He laid to rest in a depression in the landscape not far from Slough Creek, surrounded by glacial boulders and kettle ponds. He was fed upon by the beginning stages of the Junction Butte wolf pack, a few different grizzly bears, coyotes and countless ravens and magpies. This meant that he became "food for the masses". Just a few months later, in a blanket of snow, not much remains other than a few sun-bleached bones and skull. Even months later, coyote and magpie tracks still could be seen in the snow visiting his last place on this earth. This image is currently available in multiple sizes.
