Bison Eye in Winter, Yellowstone National Park, WY

Photographer's Notes:
Never get too close for an image like this - unless you
have a zoom lens attached to your camera!  Very few
guests to Yellowstone National Park know that the
most dangerous animal in the park (besides humans)
is the North American bison. With a few thousand
bison roaming the open grassland sagebrush and
wooded areas of the park, more people get way too
close to this animal for "that extra special picture".
An average of four visitors to the park are gored each
year by bison (by both bulls and cows).  In such a
case, it is usually the person who was as fault, not the
bison for encroaching on the others personal space.
