Bison Contrasts, Lamar Valley, Yellowstone National Park, WY

Photographer's Notes:
This image was taken in January of 2012. The snow pack on the Northern Range of
Yellowstone was no where near where it should be at that time of the year.  With shallow
snow, the bison's legs are visible, making this scene have more detail for the animal's full
outline.  Here you see a small group of cows and calves make their way towards the
Lamar River across the grasslands of the valley floor.
I changed slightly the levels of this digital image and increased the contrast a bit to
intensify the lights and darks for this scene.

This image is currently available in multiple sizes.
