Image Title:
Raven's Nest

Photographer's Notes:
In spring, not far from the road near Mammoth Hot
Springs, you can see a Common Raven tending to her
young on the side of a solidified mountain of volcanic
ash.  One of Yellowstone's smarter birds - they have
been seen following wolf packs, waiting for the wolf to
make their next kill so that they can feed too!

This nest sits on Huckleberry Ridge Tuff - solid rock
and ash that was extruded from the Yellowstone
    Volcano 2.1 million years ago.
