without making a sound. He was following a female black bear... Even though this is image was taken out of the mating season for bears, he was still persistent on staying by her side. I came across the two bears while out looking for a great gray owl. I never did find the owl that I was in search of, but I did have a close encounter with these two bears... This image was taken at distance with a 400mm lens. The stare down that this bear gave me still sends a chill up my spine!
